Muhammad Aminxo'ja Manzur
Biography
Muhammad Aminxo'ja Manzur was one of the gifted poets and enlighteners who wrote in the Kokand literary circle in the late 19th and early 20th century. He carried on the tradition of the ghazal with distinction and produced substantial work in the classical manner. The sources name him by his pen name, Manzur; like other educated men of his day he had drunk deep of the Eastern classics, and above all of Alisher Navoiy, Fuzuliy and Bedil. In his ghazals the poet praised love, fidelity, good conduct and the human virtues, and turned his attention to the social and moral questions of his age. His verse survives chiefly in bayaz anthologies and manuscript compilations.

Ты вновь ввергла сердце в оковы своих кудрей, вновь оставила душу в огне разлуки — бессильной и без призора. Dilni zulfing zanjiriga mubtalo qilding yana, Jonni hajr otashida befe'lu beparvo qilding yana. Kelmading bir bor so'rab holimni, ey bag'ri tosh, Ko'zlarimni yo'llaringda intizor etding yana. Manzuriy holini so'rg'il rahm etib, ey mahliqo, Ko'nglimni ishq mulkida rasvo-yu rasvo qilding yana.
